Geek and Spell
Been geeking out on musical instruments again lately, so I had my buddy at Highly Liquid custom build a Speak and Read with glitches, pitch bend, and and actual MIDI input. There are hundreds of phenomes (sylables) in the speak and read, and if I find the right ones, I can create phrases using sequencers or keyboards! Or I can treat the device like a drum machine. If you have a copy of the Atomic Bros. vs Drown Radio cd, track one features a bent Speak and Math (that is locked up in a shed in Minneapolis).
I really want to get into live recording again (vs laptop sequencing created from live sounds), so I needs to get a digital fourtrack. I'd like to take some time off to write four songs, with vox, toys, and guitar. Still really want to get my Five Percent Nation project off the freaking ground. FPN will be my live band co-operative project. Got some companies asking for demos of my electronic work for possible tv/soundtrack usage, whatever, pretty unlikely I'll get any work, but I'll get them stuff.
